I was very lucky to have gotten support from 11 designers to lend a gown made entirely of recycled materials and the least I can do is to give them a stage worth their creations.
I had a peg in mind and executing it was more difficult that I imagined it to be. Initially, I thought I could find a sponsor to take care of what I wanted but in the end, God wanted me to do it myself along with the help of my co-parents.
Two days before the event, I took a trip to Manila Seedling and the flower market to purchase the plants that I needed. Luckily, I have house staff that are used to these kinds of preparation, trained of course, by my Mumsy. She would have done this task easily. I miss her so much and every time I see plants and flowers, she's actually the first person that comes to my mind. How she loved to make flower arrangements and do gardening with my Daddy-O. Sigh....
Anyway, on the morning of Saturday, one day before the event, I had to put on my green thumb and work on the plants.
I made my little assitant, Lauren, check if the flowers were fragrant. She said, 'Yes! It smells yummy!."
Midnight of Sunday, I went to the empty ballroom and saw the work I had in front of me. Thank goodness I had Vector, Chat, Gerry and Cynthia to help me. We decided to call it a night, rather morning at 5am.
After Robby Carmona and I made a few changes, we were finally ready with the set up.
