28 years ago, a chef was born in a small village in Switzerland.
It might have already been a year but The Peninsula Manila welcomed Chef Samuel Linder as the Chef de Cuisine and promises a culinary delight.
Not so long ago, chefs would affiliate themselves with one particular style of cooking, and stick to it. Chef Samuel leans toward a culinary style that experiments with techniques and ideas from various sources.
“I believe that the product is the star,” he says, “and I try to highlight the ingredients with the right cooking process in terms of flavor, texture and color. I like my menus to be light, fresh and innovative – a wonderful mix of taste, style and imagination.”
In response to growing demands for an efficient lunch menu, Chef Linder is offering a special three- and four-course prix fixe lunch weekday menu and this is exactly what we had.
Dessert is always such a treat!
“The degustation may be enjoyed with or without wine, although a glass of vino always enhances the Old Manila dining experience,” he suggests, and that's exactly what I plan to do again and again.
