For Autumn/Winter Erwitt shoots his first advertising campaign and as well as providing a showcase for the new iconic pieces such as the D Bag, Icy Glam and Winter Gommino, he looks to tell the story of this quintessentially Italian brand through a continuation of the lifestyle theme that first took it roots in 'Italian Touch' last year.
The new campaign features a mixture of international ‘faces’ such as Lord Mountbatten’s granddaughter, India Hicks, and her 2 sons Felix and Armory Flint Wood, American heiresses, Lauren Remington Platt and her sister Ashley Wilcox Platt, English artist Hugo Guinness and American Movie Producer and member of the Johnson and Johnson family, James Johnson.
With his witty and sharp eye, Erwitt uses London and the English countryside as a backdrop to capture the innate elegance and debonair flair of his subjects and to create images which evoke that sense of old world tradition clothed in a marked contemporary ethos that is Tod’s. Playful and relaxed it conveys a sense of spontaneous and effortless chic that only the best of 'Made in Italy' can produce. The new Tod’s advertising campaign for next Autumn/Winter 2010/2011 features the work of renowned American photographer Elliott Erwitt. Erwitt first collaborated with the brand on the ‘Icons by an Icon’ series last season which depicted families in the Hamptons, in Provence, France and in England, wearing iconic Tod’s products in a set of playful images which are characteristic of Erwitt’s work.
